Bahama's Update.
saturday, june 4th:
got up at 6 am, finished packing drove to ft lauderdale with the rents and helen, nathan drove with the britts.
The plane was a little 10 seater and we had an hour delay because they were out of fuel... way to be on the ball... after we got in and breezed through customs (its good to be white) we found our car... a 90 something Rodeo with duct tape on the doors, mirrors, seats, pretty much anything else. The damn thing sounded like it's universal joint was about to go out.. It was very uncomfortable for 5 people to be in a car made for 4 max.
we road around for about an hour trying to find our place, it seems that whenever a car breaks down, they just leave it on the side of the road to rust. The entire place was just a big dump really. They say the beauty of the bahamas starts at the water, and they're right.
The house was ok, the livingroom/kitchen/dinningroom/great room was sepperated from the bedrooms by a breezeway.
There was no AC in the great room... and it was hot, constantly, everywhere. The Mosquitos came out in full force around dusk and stayed out till dawn..
There was a 17' whaler for us to use, it was ok, the throtle stuck bit.
MONDAY JUNE 5th
Yay my birthday! Yay Helen's Birthday!
I got my car fixed and helen got a sarong from my parents.
tried some fishing, went to dunmore town, looked at poor houses and poor people.
REST OF THE DAYS.
a blur of lazy days, bug bites, attempting to fish, sweating, vertigo, and mass runny runny poo.
Suvi's for people: Patrick and Adam(fuzzy) got cubans, and Ed and Mike got some bamahian cigars.
I didn't get anyone else anything cause I really didn't feel like buying t-shirts or other shit for anyone, cause you can get all that crap here in the states. its fun living in a tourist town sometimes cause you know all the tourist trap merchandise that they sell. However, my parents and brother still bought t-shirts and mugs and crap.
