Kick The Gnome

I love playing The Sims2, and there's an interesting item in the game that I enjoy: an exploding garden gnome. Yup, the little sucker explodes when your Sim kicks it!

Kinda mirrors what I'd like to do to the Bookkeeper right now. First off, he's just a little guy, and the way he hunches in my chair while working at my computer makes him look like ( Read more... )

It sounds like heading to Sylvan Learning Center would be an idea worth much consideration. I'd love to be able to teach somebody something! Its a high compliment (in my eyes anyway) that they want you :)

My guess is that they cannot set the gnome up with his own desk and computer?

I think the gnome should be at the bosses wife's desk and that is that, that way the wife can tell him to stop moving everything around. or put locks on her drawers.

It seems as if they think they are so lucky to have this gnome work for them that they are afraid of getting him angry? And not afraid of getting you angry?

Does the gnome know that the both of you do not like him messing with your work stuff? Is he a thoughtless jerk?

If it were me I would ask that they make it right with me and if I hated the outcome so much then I would have to move on.

Sort of following on TallBlue's comments - if you ask Gnome in a reasonable manner to correct the things that are bothering you, and he doesn't - then you have the lay of the land and can move to another position if you desire.

I'm sorry that your current company does not value you in a more direct and satisfying way. I know it sounds childish, but I'd take everything home with me from work tonight and only bring back what I needed each day in a kit for my personal use. Let his garbage collect on the floor.

If you plan on using Sylvan as an option, you should get a hold of them ASAP. Sara & Steve are going to be making calls to other folks to bring them in for interviews (they're going over applications as we speak).

The sooner you contact them, even to just really express your interest, the better chance you have to get good hours since they have already met you, like you, and think you'd be a good addition.

I don't want to push... but this isn't an endless opportunity.
