The sciatic nerve also runs through a muscle called the piriformis which is a part of the six deep lateral rotators in your hip. There are a variety of things you can do for sciatica, one of which is get a massage. Also, go see a chiropractor who can adjust you and it will end quicker. Stretch that area by sitting in a chair, and putting the ankle of one leg on the knee of the other and leaning forward over it. The fact that taking a hot bath makes it a little better indicates that it is stress and muscular related, but seeing a chiropractor never hurts.
