I left the cty_therapy group for a while after deleting my former LiveJournal

because I don't always feel I have something to add here compared with people currently attending and working at CTY. Also, is it just me, or is the community less active than it was a few years ago? It seems like most of the younger people are on Facebook instead ( Read more... )

I guess they might be on facebook instead, this community used to be much more active. I worked at CTY during the summers you were a CTYer, plus one more: '02-'04, though not at Carlisle.

My years as a CTYer were:
'96 Carlisle session 1 Intoduction to History, Great Revolutions
'97 Saratoga Springs session 1 Writing 1: Personal Essays
'98 Baltimore session 1 Writing 2: Literature

Wow, I feel old. My last CTY session as a student was 10 years ago.

Hi Annie!

Working at a Shakespeare Festival sounds awesome, though. Even if it's in the middle of nowhere. So do you plan to go into theater professionally?

Don't regret old CTY correspondences.

It's nice to see what people are up to later.

Oh, speaking of arts and festivals, I spent the last summer at the American Dance Festival, which is hosted at Duke, which also happens to be the hub of TIP, a program very similar to CTY that Julian Stanley also had a hand in founding. It was an odd mix of CTY nostalgia and being the Other, the 'rinas whom the TIP kids thought were all stupid.

I use Facebook to connect to friends on a one-to-one basis, but not as a group thing. If I had a question that applied to the whole of CTY I'd probably ask it here.
