. . . people have tried. People have tried countless times. The only answer they have received is that there is no answer. We play their game, for we can do nothing else.
To concede your point, I can see the appeal of believing in something when there is nothing else to believe in. The problem is when you allow these memories of potentially false past existences to control your actions in this known existence.

Stupid? Many of them, perhaps. But in our situation, there is nothing we can do but trust.

It's your business what you do with your memories, but personally, I have no intent to base my actions towards others on these memories of the past.
