ORIGINAL I don't really do much as far as real, original stuff goes. It sort of...happens to me, I bookmark it, and then I move on. However, I enjoy sharing the gems I uncover with other people! I recommend all of the following:
  • Music
  • Webcomics
  • Manga
  • Online Writing
    • Fiction
    • Essays
    • Poetry
    • Articles
  • Photographs
  • Art/Graphics
  • Fashion
  • and anything else that catches my fancy
I organize Individual Recs like so: Type -> Name/Title, Author/Artist -> Rating, Genre, Warnings -> Approximate Length -> Snippets, Summary, Notes -> Link(s) -> Other (optional) I organize Rec Lists like so: Type -> Genre -> Author/Artist, Author/Artist Links -> Name/Title, Original Rec Link -> Rating, Status, Warnings -> Approximate Length

FANDOM

AS OF NOVEMBER 2009, MY MAIN FANDOM IS KATEKYO HITMAN REBORN!.

When it comes to fandom, I am an OCD spaz of a stalker-- anyone I have friended can attest to that. When it comes to rec lists, this is even more evident: I spend days compiling, sorting, re-reading, describing, notifying, and coding these rec lists. Jenny and Linda aren't and don't, respectively. That's okay, because I kind of roped them into this whole cubedrecs business in the first place.

I often centralize myself around the most popular pairing or person (my “one”) in a fandom, due to inherent sheep genes, time restraints, and the ratio of awesome to okay. Expect my “one” in each fandom to have its own separate rec list, because I specifically search it out. Keep in mind that just because I’m centered on this “one” doesn’t mean I won’t recommend anything else; it means everything else is bonus.

The fandom lists on my personal account are a general “Warning! This might show up somewhere at some point in time!”. My recommendation lists are a whole lot more focused than that. When they waver, chances are big that an author wrote something that wasn’t in the “one” and I clicked on it because I enjoyed everything else the author had written (coincidentally, this is also how I usually fall into new fandoms). …or I was desperate. It really depends.

Fic standards are debatable:
INITIAL: Extraordinarily high, because I try to weed out new fandoms before they totally take over.
FIRST WEEK: Linguistic Radar still going strong.
SECOND WEEK: Linguistic Radar fading, Fangirl Radar taking over.
THIRD WEEK: Fangirl Radar has complete control. There will be no resistance, only cooperation.
ADDITIONALLY: These recs are geared towards my friends, so I don't necessarily do a "best-of-the-best" selection. If I liked it, it goes on here, even if that mean I'm rec'ing the same author eight times in-a-row.

My rec list creation is like so:
Individual Fic Recs ->
Weekly Updates ->
Compilation of Rec List ->
Complete Rec List

I organize Individual Fic Recs like so:
Fandom ->
Pairing (sometimes Author) ->
Title, Author ->
Rating, Length, Warnings (eg, AU, character death) ->
Snippets, Summary, Notes ->
Fic Links ->
Other (optional)
(NOTE: I post 5 fics in each Individual Fic Recs post.)

I organize Weekly Updates like so:
Fandom ->
Pairing ->
Number of Fics

I organize Rec Lists like so:
Fandom ->
Pairing ->
Author, Author Links ->
Author Commentary ->
Title, Fic Rec Link

I rec fanfiction, fanmixes, fanart&graphics&doujinshi, meta&essays, communities&sites, by pairing, and by fandom. I do not archive in memories because I am forgetful like that. Note that I tag crossovers with fandom:crossover and also with the tags of all the fandoms crossed over in it.

Also, this here is your one-time only warning about pairing names: I don't always follow the name game, because I prefer to stick to one order. Pairing name order shows the participating characters but not necessarily dominant/submissive order. I have relented over polygamy pairings, though, so I will split as necessary when rec'ing them.
