you know how sometimes you'll start an art project (or i guess any project) and you have a certain idea of what you want it to look like but it just doesn't? that sucks...and its one of my least favorite feelings. i'm going to paint today and my goal its to get two done. i also have class from 6-830 so we'll see how that goes. i don't know, this ( Read more... )

First of all, having a concept from the start is less important than visualizing what you see in your head. You can make up what the painting is all about as you paint it, because any thing that one creates is a mixture of several things that are on the artists mind. So, just tell ol' teachy some phony concept, but then paint whatever the fuck you want to paint. Because you can just make her think it stuck with the original concept, and she'd probably never know. I think starting with a concept and sticking with that one idea is very uncreative, and is not what art is about at all ( ... )

i do agree with your comments on people who preach to others about how awesome they are. but i'm more talking about the ones who generally do believe in that stuff and make it a part of their everyday lives (and don't talk about it unless asked). i guess i was trying to imply that i want to care about something thats larger then myself (and i don't mean hulk hogan). also, i totally agree with your comments about the upcoming election. its nice to think that someone can come in and change things for the better but in actuality i think that it doesn't matter because there are many many people controlling the president. so its not like every decision is based on just the prez deciding ( ... )

I haven't painted with acrylics since middle school either, oh how I loved peeling it off my hands!

I would've had a more meaningful comment, like the first person did, but then I realized the only thing I really wanted to say was, hey let's go ride bikes and listen to en vogue..i'm deep.
