Yeah, where I live in the US (east coast), there's almost NEVER earthquakes... but there was once a tiny one when I was in middle school and I was SO SO terrified! I can't even fathom how awful it is to have such a devastating earthquake! ;_;

Earthquakes are scary. I've only experienced one, and the actual earthquake was far away (you heard about the one in Illinois in April 2008, right? weirder - it was on my birthday) and I just felt the tremors which still shook my house and made some of my things fall off shelves, but it scared the crap out of me because I didn't know what was going on. The Haitians definitely need prayer D: I can't imagine what that's like. :(

you know, my school has a program called "Feed my starving children", & they're going to mail food to Haiti in 2 weeks. I volunteered to help package them. I hope it'll help the people there who are suffering right now, even if only a little. :)
