YES! There's no school for me on friday. Can anyone say 3 day weekend? I can. The only downside is that I start my job on Friday, so that ruins my weekend of fun. But maybe I'll go to Palm springs. It's not as fun as Hollywood, but it's free (minus the cost of gas...). I'm definately looking forward to this weekend. And an update on school for ( Read more... )

Student of the phase? O.o? >shrugsI actually DO have a question about a car. Generally speaking, the alternator. I have a 1993 Grand Marquis GS (Royal Jewel Green ;)). It has roughly 66,000 miles on it. Possibly 69,000 I don't quite remember ( ... )

P.S. Let me know if you need more information. There's barely anything about my car I don't know. And if I don't, I do have a users manual! ;)

Sounds like it's either the belt or the pulley. First try tightening the belts (not too much you want about 1/4" of flex). If that doesn't solve it, take off the belt and spin the pulley by hand and see if it's getting hung up/stuck. And while the belt's off check them for cracking/fraying/etc., and replace the belt if necessary. If you have a stethoscope it will work better than a screwdriver, but either should do. Try those and see if anything works...

Errr... it's just one surpentine belt. I'm not so sure, but I don't think you can really tighten it much more. It's on a pulley system or something....?

Actually, I had just replaced it about 2 years ago. Would a belt get cracked that soon? I should check it to be sure.

My dad had told me to check it when the bodyshop did maintenance on my throttlebody and make sure that the groves were in line, because they had gotten the groves wrong on his car, and it ate the belt entirely before he noticed something was wrong... >.<
