oh lord.
That was fuckrock amazing. I love that Kirk is an angy defiant bitch, that Uhura is basically the very best at what she does (although she needed moar screen time but that's what sequels are for right) and that she's all PEGGING MAJOR at Spock and he loves it. I love that Kirk did not in fact steal Spock's girlfrand like the trailers were sort of making me afraid of.
I love grumpy loldorable Bones and how he's already married and divorced by the time he's threatening to puke on Kirk. I love that Chekov is a seventeen-year-old genius cherub. I MOTHERFUCKING LOVE SCOTTY AND EVERYTHING HE STANDS FOR OH GOD HOW IS HE SO COMPLETELY CUTE AND FUN. I love that there was a redshirt who actually wore a red suit. I love Sulu and his switchblade katana thing follow takei's example and take your shirt off and use a fencing foil bbsulu. I love that Tyler Perry is one of the dudes in charge at the Academy.
I love Spock Prime and I am already writing terrible embarrassing fic about him that no one will want to read but that's okay because Spock ♥ ♥ ♥
And I love that it's good and it's successful and that maybe, finally, a whole lot more people will understand how much fun it is to be a fan.
