So, long story short I went in for a vasectomy on Thursday and it didn't go well. Suffice to say, my family's unfortunate luck when it comes to medical procedures held up here and when it came to being part of the 95% of men who have no complications, I had to roll a one on the good ol' percentile dice. Ooh - damn, I'm sorry. You're right - that is a very simple procedure for most people! Medical me would love details, but you are not obligated to share!

One of the things you can't knock out a medical professional, even with years of training, is that awkwardness. One of my classmates turned into a mumbly stammering mess when we had to discuss semen sample collections. (The word "masturbate" came up, repeatedly. She pronounced it "mffrbt.")

Someone -- a nurse, a phlebe, a doctor, someone like that -- is going to have to explain that to you in a couple of weeks, if they haven't already. In addition to a speedy recovery, I wish you someone who explains it well.
