Dean‘s cell phone rings. “What, Cas?”
“Dean, I don’t know what to do. There is a man holding a plastic card at me.”
“The man’s a customer, Cas. Hang up the phone, run the card through the machine.”
A minute later.
“I’ve tried twice. The manager is getting angry with me...no, sir, you cannot have your card back until I have run it through the machine... The manager is approaching. He looks displeased.”
“It’s your own fault. I never should’ve told you we were broke.”
“Being a department store cashier didn’t seem difficult. It appears that I was very wrong.”
