Cuddy signed off on another report and neatly stacked it with the other paperwork on the corner of her desk. She was pleased with herself; she'd been extremely productive all day. House had stayed with Cuddy all through the weekend to Monday morning. It was the first weekend in a long while that they'd managed to get on without much more than squabbles over minor things. There'd been no explosive arguments, no huge fights that sent either of them bolting as fast as they could to the front door, no major unrest. It had been just the weekend House had needed, and Cuddy, too: relaxing, lazy, quiet ( ... )

"Maybe they decided if you're not smart enough to figure out how to use a car seat, you're not smart enough to be a parent," Cuddy said, unable to keep the amusement from her voice. She knew how frustrating those seats could be to install properly, so she shouldn't find his struggle funny...but she did. It amused her to imagine his face as he was defeated by a routine piece of baby equipment ( ... )

House just let out a whiny grunt to Cuddy's question if he was okay, scrubbing the back of his head where he'd hit it with his fingertips to massage the ache away. Then he dropped his arm to his side and looked down the street, an eye squinted shut against the afternoon sun's glare ( ... )

"I'm not...." Cuddy didn't get a chance to to tell House she wasn't kidding this time because Wilson came crashing back through her door. Apparently in his determination to make sure she went home at a decent hour, he hadn't strayed far from her office ( ... )
