Is there something here that I just don’t get?

That's a damn good question, because I never figured it out, either. My ex loved the show, but then she adored everything put out by her 19-inch lover. (Now, if you want to see self-centered and shallow, try an episode of Seinfeld. That's a show that made friends talk me down from chucking the television out a third-story window.)

YES!!!!

I said that to my husband, and I was about to tell Dog the same thing about Seinfeld.

I never watched it on television so my husband, who thought it was a riot, rented it from Netflix.

I watched it-- and was so fed up with the shallow nasty cretins- I couldnt TAKE it-

Except for this one line by Elaine, who is such a bitch..

some woman kept going on about her fiance- calling him "My Baby"- on and on till everyone wanted to tear out her hair-

Then she began asking "where IS my Baby?" as she lounged on the couch- Elaine leaned over the couch and said "Dingo ATE your Baby!" and wouldnt quit saying it.
That made me laugh.
I wanted to see the soup nazi one that I had heard so much about but I couldnt take another show much less a few more seasons.

As for Friends.. they were all so pretty and I think everyone wanted a close (ATTRACTIVE) gang like that to share their lives with, so that might have been the popularity.
