Rant-time

No clue if I ever had a "real" rant here... Usually I don't write them down because for one thing they might make sense in my head but I seldomly can put them into clear words and for a second I tend to unleash them onto my poor wife in the form of a hissy-fit and then they're out and done with.

You know, there would be a lot of things for me to say, but I think you've already said them all. Why those two things have to be connected, I really don't understand. *shakes head*

There's so many power-hungry men out there, and while they might sleep around, they're not using sex as a way of getting what they want. I think a part of it is because women in general don't respect themselves enough to go for something without having to boink their way to it.

Maybe/probably, especially in real life.
In fiction maybe because male authors might have the same approach to women+power as to women+receiver of violence: it has to be connected to sex, out of whatever reason. While female authors probably are of the "Empower thyself - Hump freely and take advantage of sex!" sort and mess up sexual freedom with power... or so?
I have absolutely no clue since I really don't see why power and sex need to be connected in any way.
