Gertsy likes to cuddle, which is not exactly the first thing he thinks about when he thinks about Mase. That's completely dedicated to how he doesn't want to tangle with anyone who can take down Mitchy twice in one night.

Which is really sort of awesome, but doesn't really scream cuddler to him. None of the guys do if he's being honest, not really.

Whatever.

Gertsy isn't just a cuddler though. He's an aggressive cuddler. He'll manhandle his intended victim into whatever position he wants, and he's strong enough to do it. Living with Lazer has gotten him used to dealing with open affection. Lazer's not shy about expressing his feelings, not in the least. It starts with that quick grin, but it's actually so much more.

But to be pulled and prodded into place and then treated like a giant teddy bear? That's a new one for him. It makes him glad Gertsy's out in Van City because it might hurt his self-image of it happened too often.

Gertsy, the bastard, doesn't seem fazed in the least when he gets called on his weird cuddling habit. He just shrugs and tells Polly that he makes an excellent cuddle buddy, so it's really all his fault. Better than Curtis at the very least because apparently Lazer squirms.

He's pretty sure Curtis just has too much energy to be a good cuddle buddy for anyone. He's probably still grinning as squirms, but Polly's sure Curtis has never managed to sit still for more than five minutes in his life. There are always these little shifts that would make it hard for Gertsy to hold on to him.

It's cool with Polly because he's not a cuddler anyway. It doesn't really matter to him, and it's just part of Lazer being himself. Whenever Gertsy's in town though, Polly finds himself getting manhandled into filling in for Curtis.

He pointed out to Lazer that it seemed kind of weird that Lazer's guy liked cuddling him so much, but Curtis didn't seem to mind. He just grinned. It's the only time Polly can remember wanting to wipe the grin off Lazer's face.

Lazer's of the opinion that if Polly's good for Mase to cuddle, then all the more reason for Mason to cuddle Polly. It didn't get him out of playing Mason's teddy bear like he'd been hoping.

He's sort of gotten used to it by now. He's had more than a year, after all. Mason's arm draped over his or looped around his waist has become depressingly normal. He's even become used to the way Mason's arms tighten when the other man is drifting off to sleep. It's like he's afraid his chosen victim will squirm away while he's asleep.

Polly blames that on too much trying to cuddle Curtis.

Still it's a pretty fair thought because Polly's tried to escape more than once. It just makes Mason hold on tighter though.

Playing with the Oil Kings has gotten Polly pretty used to both Mason's cuddling thing and the thing he has going on with Curtis. It's not that surprising when he thinks about it. Mason and Curtis are really close, and they're both guys playing hockey. And hockey is sexy and so is winning.

He's only a little surprised when Mason ends up crashing at his place for the Sweden game of the pre-tournament. He has to stay over because the games start ridiculously early, like people should not be up this early unless they get to play hockey for it.

Mason's already camped out on the couch come five thirty in the morning, looking disgustingly awake. He wraps an arm around Polly's shoulders and doesn't mention the fact Polly hasn't bothered to change out of his oversized pajamas.

Mason's pretty great right now because he's only half awake and Mason's warm. His face pretty much stays buried in Mason's neck for the first. He can hear the commentary, but his eyes are only half open.

Trying to stay awake during the first is tough, but the intermission is worse. He's warm, tucked into Mason's side, it's way earlier than he likes being up, and it's not like he's watching the most thrilling game. It doesn't even count for anything.

Lazer's going to need to pick it up though. Otherwise, he's going to fall asleep on Mason. Mason would totally tattle on him and tell Curtis that he couldn't even stay awake to watch his teammate play like he'd promised. He tries to wake himself up, he really does.

It's just that Mason is really comfortable. He's way softer to rest against than Polly ever would have thought. And he's warm and solid. It's really nice.

The next thing he knows, Gertsy is shaking him awake.

"I feel asleep?"

"Yeah, you did." He can practically hear Mason laughing at him.

"You're going to be a complete pain in my ass and tell Lazer, aren't you?"

"You know it. I already texted him. They lost, by the way."

"Thanks a lot. Shitty for the team. Did Lazer play well at least?"

"Yeah, pretty good. He's not really used to his lineys yet, but I'm pretty sure they're going to gel okay."

"Good. I'm going to ride Lazer so hard if he doesn't come home with a medal. Grif was so heartbroken last year."

"They've got a good shot, better if Curtis can click with his lineys and get something going on the powerplay."

"Yeah, we're missing him here though."

Mason chuckles. "You just didn't want to get up."

"I don't know. You make a pretty good bed, all warm and soft. Pretty nice for sleeping on."

"And You make a decent teddy bear, especially when you're asleep. You're not all tense and bitchy like you are when you're awake."

"Fuck off with your weird cuddling thing, you weirdo. You have Lazer for that. You should get something out of fucking around with him."

"I do. Sex. Besides, he's in Sweden. You'll have to stand in until I go back to Van City."

"Who the hell do you cling to when your with the Giants, tough guy?"

"My D partner or Foss's little brother work pretty good. The guys there are really good. It's like a team bonding experience."

"Whatever."

"Go back to sleep, you cranky little shit."

"Then stop talking."

"Just close your eyes, Polly. I'll be here to fill you in on the game when you're actually awake."

"Good. I want to know what I should be chirping Lazer for."

"Shut up and sleep. You're being an awful teddy bear."

Fini.
