What is frustrating is you'd be surprised how many gay and bisexual men I know lie when asked that question.

Interesting ethical choice people sometimes make.

What about a straight guy who got drunk and did some experimenting in college he won't admit to? If he was embarrassed he could just lie very easily!

How in the hell they think they can trust every schmoe who walks in at his word and have that be useful information is beyond me.

Well, that's an issue as well.

What I was more commenting on is the whole "well, we won't admit to it, because they test it all anyway" mentality of many in the gay community regarding the question. They completely miss the issue at hand, which is that the law is stupid.

If every man answered that question truthfully, many think that there would be a crisis. The American Red Cross has almost outright said to the gay community, "look, we really WANT you to answer the question truthfully, because until there's a crisis of lack of donors they feel they can't really get the FDA to even look at the problem.
