RAIN
It’s been raining for so many days now, that I’ve lost track. I feel like saying that it’s rained ever since Yuki left, but I know that’s not true and besides, Hiro would say I’m overreacting. I hold out my hands, watch the rivulets of water travel down my fingers to my palms. I like coming to the park when Yuki’s gone. It doesn’t feel right being inside the apartment without him. The park helps me clear my mind. And sometimes…
“Oy, idiot! What are you doing out in the rain?”
I smile; turn my head towards that familiar voice. Yes. Sometimes he even comes for me. He stands underneath a red umbrella. He looks annoyed, but he usually does anyway, so it’s not much of a deal.
“Yuki! You’re back!” I cheer and run towards him, but - as I should have predicted- he quickly steps out of my path.
“Don’t you dare get my clothes wet, brat!”
Rolling my eyes, I cease my lunge attack, instead coming to stand in front of him.
“Why are you out here?” he asks me again. “And without an umbrella - are you trying to get sick?”
I shake my head and almost get some raindrops on him, so he takes a step back.
“You know I always come here when you’re gone, Yuki! It…it helps me not to worry so much about you.”
Something in his eyes softens for just a moment, before his expression is as stoic as usual. He knows I saw it, and turns his head away from me indifferently.
“There’s nothing to worry about.”
“Of course there is! What if I never see you again?”
“Idiot. I go out of town all the time. I always come back, don’t I?”
“Yes, but what if something happened? What if your plane crashed, or you got kidnapped by some crazy fan, or you hit your head and got amnesia and forgot all about me, or you met some chick and decided to stay, or-”

Quite suddenly I feel his lips pressed against mine. I know he just wants me to shut up, but how can I care about that when my Yuki’s kissing me? I let my eyes drift shut and kiss back, wanting to move closer and feel his arms around me - but that would just make him stop and yell at me, so I ignore the urge and content myself with the feeling of his slick tongue rubbing all the pleasurable areas of my mouth. He slowly pulls away and I let out a quiet moan of protest.
“Let’s go home,” he says lowly, giving me that lustful expression I’ve grown so used to.
“Wait, I wanna show you something first,” I tell him. “It’s what I do while I’m here waiting for you.”
I expect him to tell me to forget it and start walking, but he stays where he is, albeit looking a little wary. I smile at him and walk over to the railing of the city overlook. I grip it tightly and step up onto the metal bars, leaning out over it.
“Shuichi, what are you-” I hear him start to ask behind me, but I don’t give him the chance to complete his question.
I take a quick breath and yell out as loud as I can.
“I LOVE EIRI YUKI!”
When I stop, I laugh out loud, wondering how far my voice carried. When I get my breath back, I call out my confession again and again.
“I LOVE EIRI YUKI! I LOVE EIRI YUKI! I LOVE EIRI YUKI! I-”
Words escape me as I feel arms encircle my waist, tugging me off the railing and back against a strong chest. Out of the corner of my eye, I see the red umbrella lying, forgotten, on the wet ground. I grin, pushing myself further into Yuki’s embrace.
“You’re getting your clothes wet,” I remind him half-heartedly.
“Shut up,” he grumbles, turning my head a bit so he can kiss me.
I kiss back happily, pleased to get such a warm response to my show of affection. When we break for air, he tightens his grip on me for a moment before slipping his hands down my front, making me squeal.
“Now let’s go home.”
I nod my head eagerly; quickly taking his hand as he releases me and following him back towards our apartment, grabbing the umbrella on the way.
