onepieceyuri100 Nami was not a girl who was keen on routine. Life would get dull, she thought, if one lived each day the same. That was probably one reason why piracy so attracted her. And routine? Not on Luffy’s ship. Granted, some things never really changed - like how the boys would have to fight for their food before Luffy ate it all; the way Zoro could almost always be found training or sleeping; the fact that Chopper still believed Usopp’s stories. Those things were predictable, but she didn’t mind that so much.
Still, there was one practice, one habit, which she wished she still had. Every night, as the ocean’s waves rocked the Going Merry along the sea towards the desert kingdom of Alabasta, Vivi’s arm would reach out, close the distance between their tired bodies, and seek the comfort of Nami’s hand. Nami would lace their fingers together, give a reassuring squeeze, and share the warmth of her skin even after they both had fallen asleep.
But now the princess was gone, and Nami found her fingers itching for that contact, for the feel of soft, feminine flesh against her own. She liked change, don’t get her wrong, but she wouldn’t have complained if only Vivi had decided to stay.
Despite that, she decided to look on the bright side. At least Robin had more than enough hands to hold.
