Bed rest

Doc ordered me to bed rest today. We're doing all kinds of tests this weekend to find out if I have preeclampsia and need to have labor induced. Looks like this baby is coming soon, for better or worse

Oh Sally, that sucks, I'm sorry. Do you need anything?

Nah, I think this is all precautionary. Doc can't tell if it's preeclampsia without the tests, but other than the swelling and high blood pressure, I don't have any other signs. They're doing blood tests today to check for kidney and liver function and then I have to start a 24-hour urine test tomorrow checking for proteins. If those tests show additional signs of preeclampsia then they'll induce labor, otherwise it's stay off my feet and away from stress until labor starts on its own.

The did some sort of non-stress test in the OB office today and the baby is fine so it's not an immediate need. Just that the baby will probably be delivered before next Saturday. I have a follow up appointment on Tuesday morning if nothing happens before then.

Thanks :) I meant to say thanks for your other comment as well but my LJ comment notifications haven't been getting to me in a timely manner.

We're in the "hurry up and wait" stage for this baby so it's tough to think about anything else.
