Is that a trick of the camera, or does it really look like that?

The bricks look nice. I just worry that the planters will get very hot but having them right by the door will be perfect for watering. Is the hose nearby? And if this is a doorway that does not get used very much will you remember to water the planters? Have you thought about using some sort of ground cover instead? What's your goal? Sorry I'm asking so many questions. :)

Love the baby birds and the sunflower.

Its north facing and is in shade most of the day (because the eaves are long.) Heat not too much concern then. I catch rain water in rain barrels. I dont mind watering, I walk my yard several times a day. Thought about ground cover... dont want anything right up against the foundation tho (reallllyyy old house!) Goal? less grass = less mowing! LOL

aww cute baby birdies :) I would put a whole patio or deck out back! Then you wouldn't have to worry about it :) What a nice huge yard you have!

I wish I had the time and $$ for a full patio right there. I do have one, just not attached to the house (photos later.) Just trying to solve the mowing in corners problem... hate it! The entire yard is 2 ACRES! Nice? Try mowing it! LOL

you can do a patio for pretty cheap! Ours was just the cost of the stones and screening underneath. A deck is much more expensive but nice to have lol. We don't have one, but it would be nice lol.

I'm sure it's a pain to mow but I would love to have all that space!

Its not as bad as I make it to be... I just hate putting all that mower exhaust into the air! Im on a 5-year plan to get it in good shape. theres one whole corner I havent even begun... looks like a jungle!
