Misha Collins won't be a regular in Season 7

Thank you very much, Sera Gamble.

This is why I don't like you.

“When it comes to Supernatural, our philosophy is that everyone moves in and out and weaves in and out of the story, obviously with the exception of Sam and Dean. We love Misha. We love and adore the character of Castiel. His character developed to this extent and went in this ( Read more... )

*hugs* Cas-haters, Wincest fans are the minority. It was the Cas fans who earned 1st place for SPN in the contest for the TV Guide magazine cover (and then we were cheated by not having Cas on the actual cover! -_-), and if the show runners don't see who kept their show on the air when the majority of old fans moved on to other shows, too bad for them. I'm not going to keep supporting them by buying any DVDs or watching S7, because I feel traumatized - raped in spirit, kind of.

I find it so ridiculous that Sera said We love and adore the character of Castiel. You wouldn't know it the way they treated him! But to be fair, it wasn't only Sera - Kripke also agreed to this direction. And I'm guessing the rest of them as well.

I don't know anything about the ratings or how strong the Cas fan base is, but I am still heartsick and can't be convinced to be otherwise by people with more optimistic views.

I am pretty sure that it's Cas and Misha's involvement in Supernatural that saved the show and earned it another season (or two).

Kripke's plan was a 5-season story arc. And he did that. And then gave control to Sera.

Fans everywhere just wanted more. SPN ratings were falling in S3, rocketed in S4 and kept stable in S5. Other than Misha was supposed to be just in 4 episodes during S4, but he had such a huge impact to the show he became a regular.

So yes, I'm willing to bet the Misha/Cas fans had a lot to do with higher ratings in S4 and S5.

Kripke gave up the control to Sera when he let her become show runner. Yes, he might probably still have a say, but I think out of respect for his colleague, he would've just supported Sera's choices/plan and gave his inputs to "make it better".

And we all know Kripke's already a sadist.

I just don't understand how anyone can read what Sera said and not be pessimistic and angry ( ... )

The " W boys" could not hold my attention. This. I was pretty meh during the first 3 seasons, and admittedly did not even watch all of S3. I just looked at episode 1, skipped to the last episode and then watched S4. HOOKED the moment the angel showed up and religiously watched from then on ( ... )

see Cas as this cute, naive and wibble angel who's sweet and compassionate and every inch the nice guy when he isn't. He's a soldier first and foremost, a warrior of heaven who lived and served for war against anything and everything that had the brand of "enemy" in his book.

Of course, you are right. He is an angel, a SOLDIER of God and all that entails. I do believe he has the ability to be more as demonstrated, in part, by his relationship with Dean. And I just read this:

http://saucery.livejournal.com/14078.html

which has me totally reconsidering Cas and his motivations and where the show may be taking him.

And I completely agree with you on how Dean, Sam, and Bobby were behaving. It was so obviously contrived by the writers it's hard to ignore the strings.

by some miracle (be it friendship, love or sacrifice but on DEAN/SAM/BOBBY's side and not Cas. Cas had sacrificed enough imoI'm with you. He has sacrificed so much and so many fans have so much invested in this ( ... )

I... I had to stop reading halfway. She made some good optimistic points but I have to disagree on a LOT of things just as much. I'll probably read it again later when I'm at a much comfortable computer (squinting at this notebook doesn't allow me to rant properly lol ( ... )

I was sad to hear what Sera had to say about Cas. I was hoping the evil/God!Cas business would mean he would be around MORE often, not less. I was thinking this bit would mirror the Sam + demon blood/freeing Lucifer/good intentions paving the road to fuckery story, you know? After Sam was screwed up for awhile he came back awesome-er.

But it sounds like this won't be the case. It's too bad because this storyline seems like it could be really awesome.

Even if Cas is around less and gets killed off at some point, hopefully season 7 will be altogether less rushed or disjointed-feeling than season 6. Maybe the writers just needed to get this out of their systems?

I feel like giving up on supernatural completely. For real. I know how stupid that sounds (even the way I said it), but this season pissed me off. I haven't seen the last two episodes, (I have them on Itunes finally), but I think I'm done.

There is this obsessive compulsive part of me that can't stand to drop anything without seeing where it leads to, but I'm right there with you. I'm raging.

At least they didn't kill Cas off; there's still chance for him to return. (Or did they? Wait, don't tell me, I haven't watched all the eps yet! ^___^)
