thursday 5/12
slept ok, except for going wide awake at 6am... probably jet lag, though I was able to get back to sleep shortly afterwards. In the morning there was a note from maja's father, asking if I would come teach a short improv workshop to his students. I said yes. Walked around the area, stopped by Celica hostel where we stayed before.

Drazen confirmed our tix for episode III. He and I have dinner at cafe romeo. It is called "fusion food" which is their way of saying Mexican. Mexican is popular here. There is no Thai food here, and only one Sushi place. Maja and Drazen list sushi as the top food they look forward to in N. America, because they just dont really get it here (the one place is really expensive and not very good).

friday 5/13
I wake up to find a flyer for my workshop that Bojan (maja'S dad) has made up. He grabbed my headshot and bio from the UP website, so it reads as if my main credentials are collecting powerbooks and SW bath stuff. Oh well. I said 'that old picture, I look nothing like that' and he said ' do you have a recent one? your current look will be more appealing to college students.' True. The only recent pic I can think of is the lightsaber photo.

I go to a serbian place for lunch with gregor and maja. Great food. Tonight I am going with Drazen to a big music thing... techno music or something. should be interesting.

saturday 5/14
woke up late due to the long night before. lunch with drazen and maja at an italian place - randy jill amanda and I ate there before. I seem to have a strong memory for places where i have travelled before. today drazen and I walked around trying to find tickets for the lydia lunch show tonight for him, and we passed a pizza place that I recognized as the place (Fouculus) they took us when we first arrived in Ljubljana on the fall 03 tour.

Pizza is eaten here with knife and fork, and usually not shared. If you walk by a pizza place you will see tables of 2 or 3, with 2 or 3 medium (by us standards) pizzas, each being eaten by just one person. I got a slice of pizza to go the other day and ate it while I walked across town, and I seemed to draw stares.

In general, it seems the pace of life here feels very easygoing. As an example, if you are at a restaurant, the servers are apparently paid well so you dont tip them, but this also means that they aren't rushing to turn over the tables. I think every time we've eaten out, we end up asking for the check when it is time to go.
