Heh. I've now heard that from both you and Max. From my perspective, the critic was maybe too harsh on light and sound. Or at least, I think what he said could be taken as harsh when (in my opinion) it isn't really deserved.
I thought lights and sound were great, and I do think they will continue to get better. Steve (light board) was pretty quick on the draw, including following Randy with the 2 moving luminaires (VL-5's?). And he did a great job both nights that I saw with giving every scene a unique look, which was particularly helpful on Wednesday (the night of this review) since many of the scenes got centered in the same spot by the players.
Trent (keyboardist) works really well with the cast, and in fact, I think Ron directed him to hold back some after their first dress rehearsal, encouraging him to find specific moments to underscore, rather than scoring the whole scene.
thanks... you'd be having fun in this show. It's funny to see the playground we make of the bigger stage, the set, costumes, and even the odd prop (severed head, anyone?).
Keep the Korea stories coming... they're great. I had some homemade bulgolgi on Saturday... mmmm...
Hey, Brian, I miss you! I just wanted to congratulate you and the others for the good review and the good work you are doing! In Ljubljana we just started our performancs at Trnfest (an annual summer festival organized by KUD). The first one was really really great and the second one was one of those after which you cannot really sleep because you feel bad about it. Anywaym that's one of the beauties of improv. On saturday we are going to Vienna to celebrate Bronwynn's and Roland's wedding. This will be fun! I think I already wrote to much for just a comment. I don't really know how to do this. This is my first live journal comment ever! Live journal are not really big or even known in Slovenia (yet). A hug for each of you, Maja
