Here's a
bohunk-inspired quest. Hope it's not too boring.
So,
bohunk posts
this entry, stating that her friends list is no fun today. Wanting to help but feeling uninspired, I check out her interest list.
I'm pretty impressed at the unique interests (look at someone's userinfo page, the interests that aren't shared by anyone else wont be a hyperlink). She's got cool stuff like "bears drinking milk" and "twangity surf music" that don't surprise me as being unique, but a bunch that I'm shocked no one else has listed as an interest. I mean, no one else listed "crumpled dollar bills" and "rockabilly haircuts" as an interest?
But the big thing I take away is that
bohunk is someone who probably typed in her interests in, whilst I think I typed in a few to start, then just jacked interests from other folks as I saw them. So, I decide I should add some interests with the goal of getting one that is unique to me. Of course I could just concoct something, mash together a few words to achieve this, but I impose a rule that it has to truly be an interest of mine.
My first try,
bath poufs, is a no go (one other person is a bath pouf fan). Next, I try "dr. pepper versus mr. pibb" but it doesn't show up in my interest list, and some poking around the LJ FAQ leads to the revelation that you only have 4 words and 50 characters max. Next try is
Kennewick man but not surprisingly there are some other folks who care about him.
I want to do "Actors with action figures from two different toy lines" but of course, it's too long. This has been an interest of mine ever since they made a Lt. Reginald Barclay figure from Star Trek: The Next Generation (Dwight Schultz, who played Barclay, already had a Mad Murdock figure from the A Team). It think it was 1993 or so that it came out, and I thought I could count on one hand the actors who had multiple figures. Most are big stars, like Harrison Ford (Han Solo and Indiana Jones), Arnold Schwarzenegger (Terminator, Last Action Hero), etc. But what an honor for Dwight Schultz to have two figures!
So I settle for "actors with action figures" and just like that, I've got my first unique interest. For good measure, I shorten another one to "pepper versus pibb" and now I've got two.
And finally, just for the hell of it, I add
egg nigiri from
bohunk's interest list, so we are in our own exclusive little club. Hope you don't mind!
