a photo-worthy weekend

Seattle, windstorm aftermath:

the line for gas - note, I framed this picture to include my empty tank - see at the bottom, where the digital readout shows I'm on E? Unlike everyone else in line, I actually needed gas, to drive to Portland.

Portland, Brody sendoff:

[I have no pictures of the Brody's final night of shows, mostly because the power went out 10 minutes before curtain for the first show and I helped stall for time while we hoped the power would come back on... so, imagine 3 improvisers in the dark, performing to candlelight and flashlights a supposedly scary story about hawaii and lloyd bridges, then a demonstration of an original Edison gramophone - yes, the wax tube kind - which of course was hand cranked and didn't require power. The lights came back and the show started about 40 minutes late. The late show got a nice write up in the Willamette Week which mentions me by name (out of town acts always get the respect). While my ego likes the attention, I'm more happy that they called the improv "balls-out" and said the Brody "has long been a beacon for comedy-an improv institution that nurtured and molded some of Portland's finest jokesters."]

Sign in the window of the bullring nw restaurant, also thrown out into the cold by the phantom menace of eventual gentrification:

I learned how to set the camera timer:

one of a handful of mementos I nabbed (that's genuine whorehouse shag):
