so I saw Marie Antoinette today and even got a nift free mini poster.
What do you get if you dump the slow, meandering plot with people looking out windows and partying of Copala's "lost in translation" with the costume drama of "amadeus". You get Marie Antoinette.
"Elizabeth" this is not so if you want a serious, character driven epic don't go see this. Go rent the older version of the story, watch "The girl in the fireplace" ep of Dr Who, watch "Amadeus" just not this. This is not brain food.
Now, on the other hand if you want lots of eyecandy, an anachronistic soundtrack and stunningly baroque settings and a few laughs go see this. If you love gorgeus costumes and food and amazingly crazy hair go see this film.If you liked "lost in translation" like I did then you will like this.
oh and the dude who plays her lover? Wow. So hot. SO FREAKING HOT. Like so hot it hurts. And louis seems very sweet and loving in a friendly way. There really isnt any passion but when she gets with Count de'hawtpants? LOOK OUT.
The two spinster aunts and the Old kings trashy mistress are a hoot!
and there will be so many icons coming and blends, this movie was made for it.
I give it:
