This morning Gord told Nicole, "I thought about it last night. I'm ready to quit."

So now he's on palliative care.

I'll be going there in the morning, I think really to say goodbye although not in so many words - I want to cling to just enough uncertainty to hope that there could be another visit, another chance to connect. I am going to finally give

Oh God. I'm so sorry. I'm glad that he's able to have some control over what happens to him, but he seriously sounds like an amazing person and the world won't be as wonderful without him.

I'm around if you need to vent or be hugged or whatever.

He's a cranky bastard with a heart the size of Texas, my first bandmate, my first romantic adversary, the man who taught me about punk rock and *tried* to teach me about dub; one of the wisest and most brilliant people I have ever known, one of the best friends I have ever had.

Thanks for the offer. I will be at Wendy's "Christmas" party tomorrow afternoon if you want to come along to that. I want to be hugged.
