Don't be sad for the holidays, Tanner. The holidays are what you make of them. Be happy you can spend yours with friends even if not for the whole evening. Tonight I baked some tasty chocolate chip cookies for myself and went on a bike ride to enjoy the evening. It's sad but growing distant from family is sometimes part of growing up.

When I had to work all my holidays, back when I never got to see my family on them, I considered the actual date of the holiday as...not the holiday. Or rather, not a day to consider special. Make your own holidays!
