So, my last entry got a decent number of responses. There's no clear difference I can spot between the 9ers and 12ers, and I'm surprised that aendr for one is a 12er, being physicsy, which is where I seem to have got my 9er leanings. Unfortunately my main argument against 'aluminum' requires me to accept 'sulfur'. At least that's pronounced right though.

I'm more annoyed with IUPAC for declaring any paper written in English must write it with an 'f' as that is the correct spelling. Oddly they don't tell you how to spell it in French or German. You will notice most UK journals still write with the British spelling, since it is rather ridiculous to have the spelling sulfur and colour in the same paper.

Probably a result of me spending more time bothering K&A together than anything else. Not seen the two of you in *aages* in comparison :)

Geographic unproximity too. I stay in touch with K&A much more through Warcrack and the like.
