I was quite disappointed with a friend who went she heard of the person abroad (I think india) who committed suicide told me I was talking rubbish when I said press were at fault for the hype (I had read the rather amusing though also concurring daily mail article early that day). Their view? Teenage get stupid ideas in there heads, GAH.

that's part responsibility not total I mean with my point, they denied any press coverage in at all.

Not just teenagers. However, I don't think you can lay the blame for the suicide entirely at the feet of the media, but certainly they've got a sizeable responsibility, and one they shouldn't be unfamiliar with.
