The secret to no deadlocks is: "No thread may hold a lock on one object while it waits for a lock on an object with a lower sequence number". It's deadlock free, it's only occaisionally inconvenient (in the program I'm currently writing that is, not in general), the common case can be implemented easily and efficiently, and the not so common case ( Read more... )
