Ichiro held on to the wall behind him and looked around some more. He couldn't find a cave but they had to find one quick and a little bit on higher ground. The higher ground part wasn't that hard since he was on some pretty tall cliffs to begin with but the cave wasn't as easy as he thought it would be. They were to far off track to try and find the way back so he decided the safety of a shelter was more important. If they didn't find it soon somebody was bound to get sick.
"Stay close to the wall guys and hold the girls hands to I don't want them slipping got that." he yelled out as he continued to lead them. He was the leader afer all and responsible for their safety and he knew damn well he wouldn't let anything happen to any of them.
Leo pushed foward but trailed behind Shuichi and grunted when his foot began to slip some. Quickly he caught himself with a grunt and dug his fingers into the wall more. ' a prefect way to end a prefect day'
Kenshin thought about his current predicament. After all, there wasn't much else to do, except panic, and that seemed kind of pointless. He also held on for dear life. He was a little annoyed by the fact that he had no clue where he was. Now that the sky was covered with clouds, he couldn't even tell which direction he was facing. He considered the items in his backpack. The blankets wouldn't do anyone any good until they were in a position to use them without falling off the sheer drop, which would probably be uncomfortable. He had the rope, but he only had one, and he didn't see how that could do any good for everyone. With his free hand, he pulled out the binoculars and shielded them as best he could with his hand. It wasn't much, but he could make out a spot on the hill ahead that seemed a bit darker than the rest of the hill. "Ichiro, I think I might have found a cave, what do you think? It doesn't seem too far away." He pointed in the general direction and went to hand the binoculars to Ichiro.
Ichiro looked and noticed what he was talking about. "Just hope something isn't using it for shelter already." he said moving over to where the was more ledge he looked at the group.
"All right Chiisuchine and Ayame move up here with me." he ordered and with a sly smile he added. "You too Kenshin I want you in between them while we get in a single file line boy girl boy girl get it. I'm first and if one of them slips you can dive after them like I know you'd want to." Ichiro was still irked about the incident from rock climbing.
"Leo and Shuichi follow from the rear and everyone stay close its a narrow path but a fairly easy one just go slow and try not to slip." Ichiro moved to take the lead hoping the others would follow in the order he named for safety reasons.
Kenshin tried not to laugh at Ichiro's comment. It would have annoyed him, but he had to admit, he probably would have dived after them. As he got in line, he turned to Chii and asked, "Hey, you don't think the cave will flood do you?" He paused, thinking about leo, and that he might have heard him. "I.. uh... mean, that, uh... Well, it's probably high enough that that shouldn't be a problem..."
"Why bother offer thanks when I could do just as well without your help." Shuichi replied stubbornly glaring icicles at Leo. He looked up in the direction of the reast of the group as Ichiro called to them. "I'm fine...I think," he yelled back, not sure if his voice had been trailed off from the wind.
"Thanks not how you use your lung Ice Princess likes this" Leo began to bandage Shuichi's arm and tigthen(a little too harshly) the bandage a few times as he spoke.
"I GOT A FEW CUTS AND SHUICHI HAS A CUT ON HIS ARM BUT OTHER THEN THAT WE ARE A-OK! WE ARE GOING TO FIND A SHALLOW PART OF THE HILL CLIFF THING AND CLIMB BACK UP THAT WAY AND MEET YOU THERE! ALRIGHT!?" Leo shouted as he finished off Shuichi's arm.
He turned back to Shuichi and poked his nose, "you would have hit your head or damange your spine if I didn't take that fall my self! Unlike you I am built to take strong blows to my body and still walk! Clearly you can hardly stand!" His finger proded into Shuichi's cheek. "Well Guess with Ice princess we are stuck together so deal."
"Well it doesn't hurt to have extra," said kenshin. Suddenly an idea struck him. He already had the rope out, and it was quick work to take a couple of the foil blankets out of his bag and strung them up to the rocks. He weighted the other side of his makeshift 'lean-to' tent to the ground with a few loose stones. It wasn't much of a shelter, but it would keep the rain off while they waited, and it could be taken down quickly when Ichiro decided to move on. He thought about tossing a couple of blankets to Leo and Shuichi, but it would probably get blown away by the storm, so he didn't bother. Instead, he sat down in the tent and braced his flashlight between two rocks for a makeshift lantern. He was cold and wet, protected from a fairly violent storm by nothing but a thin piece of aluminum, stuck on a tiny path between a hill that was likely to have a rockslide any minute and a potentially fatal drop off, and likely to not be alive to the next day. He was having the time of his life...
"ALL RIGHT TELL ME WHAT DIRECTION YOUR HEADING IF YOU CAN. YOU EVEN CAN USE RIGHT OR LEFT FACING THE CLIFF I'M ON IF YOU NEED TOO I CAN FIGURE OUT THE REST." Ichiro looked over at Kenshin.
"Now you are using your head let the girls in though they need it more then us boys."
Ayame looked down at her outfit and started whine. "My leather boots are covered in mud and are ruined. My beautiful outfit is ruined! I've broken 4 nails, my hair is a mess, my make-up is smeared all over my face." Ayame complained.
Kenshin heard this last remark and couldn't keep from laughing. He was truly enjoying himself. The only thing that would make this trip better would be to climb up the rocky hill behind him, but he had a feeling that if he did that and survived, Ichiro would kill him himself. There was no guarantee of this tent lasting any length of time in this storm, but they couldn't go anywhere with Leo and Shuichi stuck at the foot of the hill. There was plenty of room in the tent for all of them, including Ichiro if he wanted to join them, but he used the "lack of available room" as an excuse to get back into the storm. He wandered over to Ichiro. "Got any ideas?" he bit his tongue from suggesting again that he climb down to help them.
"Yes I wanted to follow along the edge of the cliff with them but it'd be to fast of a pace for the girls to handle. I can't leave them here alone there isn't anyone responsible to watch over everything if I leave. Don't suggest yourself Kenshin cause your not its impossible for you to do everything good your luck is bound to run out and we cant afford anymore problems." Ichiro shrugged his bag off and pulled out a jacket.
"You keep that tent of yours from flying away I have something to keep me dry for awhile till I figure out something."
"Well, You could stay here with Chii and Ayame, and I could follow the path to help the guys get back here." Kenshin paused for a moment while his mind vividly depicted what Ichiro would do if left in a tent with two girls. "... Uh, in fact, if Chii doesn't mind, she could come with me. You know, like a buddy system." Ayame could handle herself, or more, kenshin wasn't worried if she couldn't... ((OOC: I know this is borderline, but I figure that kenshin would probably have at least noticed Ichiro staring at every girl that passed. If you want me to change it, I will.)
