Basic Character Info

Character's LJ Username:
Name: Gentry Valori
Age: Forty-three (43)
Gender: Male
Nationality: Italian
Mafia Family: Vongola
Generation: Third
Main Flame Attribute: Sky
Secondary Flame Attribute/s: He's able to manifest the other six Flames, but only in short amounts and depending on which Flame it is, not for very long.
Weapon of Choice: He prefers to use this knife that was a gift from his cousin, Giotto.
Secondary Weapon: N/A
Special Abilities: Aside from using his Sky Flame to engulf his weapon, Gentry manifests enough Sun Flames to keep his poor health from deteriorating more than it already has. Occasionally, he'll use his Mist Flames to cover his sickly appearance, but seeing as it's usually too much-- He only uses it when he feels he must.
Appearance: Gentry is tall, about 6'3" and his body, unlike his health, is strong beneath the suits he wears. Broad shoulders, large chest, muscled arms and legs-- Almost like the professional boxers of their time. He has two tufts of black hair, one at the front center and it's mirrored opposite at the back. His eyes the color of melted chocolate and skin, a dulled brown.
Clothing: Terzo generally wears suits, not expensive ones, just normal. He's not that flashy with his attire and only when it's absolutely necessary, he'll wear one of the two French suits he owns. (Yes, he prefers their taste when it comes to expense.)

On his time around the mansion and away from work, however, Gentry enjoys being in a warm sweater (they're always different, never the same one twice) and loose slacks. Fluffy slippers usually adorn his feet and he doesn't mind that they look feminine. They're comfortable and that's all that counts. :|

In-Depth Character Info

Personality: If there was anyone out there that claimed they had a big heart to all things big and small, they would be quickly pushed aside compared to Gentry. He's sweet, kind, gentle and when it comes to certain events, completely oblivious. He smiles throughout his poor health, and he's very convincing when he tells his Family that he's fine when he isn't. (That or they simply let him believe what he wants so as not to cause any unnecessary stress.) He enjoys taking walks through the... lower-class communities of Italy. He does this so he can use his influence as a Don to better their lives. Orphanages in need of better blankets and food? Gentry's there, handing the needed supplies personally to the nuns. A bird unable to fly due to a twisted wing or foot, Terzo is there picking it up and taking it home to heal. He makes it a point to help the helpless, feed the starving and better the lives of as many people he can. Gentry is like a large child, caring, trusting, innocent, and a heartfelt laughter that's sincere enough to pull those around him to join in. His guardians have to constantly stop him from over turning the Vongola Mansion into another one of his shelters, clinics and/or pet hospitals.

He doesn't like to fight but will if he has to, all the while maintaining his Sun Flames concentrated around his heart and lungs to keep from collapsing. He enjoys the company of everyone and is very hospitable to who ever decides to visit, even if the guests are not for him. He sees the good in everyone and just about anything; not particularly liking that anyone would enjoy being mean or something being incredibly bad. He's not ignorant of the Mafia lifestyle, knows that there's times where killing is inevitable and though it pains him, he carries it like a Don.

History: Gentry Volari since infancy, has always been sick. His parents never knew what it was that caused his illness or how to help him. They had little hope of Gentry ever seeing past his first year, what with low blood pressure, lung issues on top of heart complications. Yet, surprising them year after year Gentry grew up happy. Always smiling through his coughs, his nausea, and making the most of his life. As a child he over heard his parents claiming he was a burden, his weak immune system making it difficult for them to even consider having another child because of how costly he was. Even this didn't keep the future Vongola Don to try from growing up normally. He played like the other kids did, only he would constantly have to stop due to the dizzy spells that occurred when he would run for too long, laughed and enjoyed everything there was to enjoy being a kid so young and free.

Valori started learning how to use a certain fire, light, around his weak heart at the age of twenty-four; when he became the Vongola Terzo. He wasn't sure if it was the right decision considering that even he knew he was weak and more importantly he didn't want to fail the Family his cousin Giotto had worked hard to create. The first years were rough, Gentry refusing to take rival families out, being somewhat of a pushover and his health. Eventually though, Gentry took the reigns as Don and started to be the man he was supposed to be; strong, mindful, and overall a true leader (in his way). Word did spread of the new Don to be poor in health, but while many thought this as their advantage to either take over the Vongola or wipe it out completely, their attempts were always foiled by the managed strength and unity Terzo pulled against them with the help of his guardians.

Gentry has a strange way of choosing his guardians. Most of them being the least likely to ever get a ring by anyone else but Gentry Valori. Everyone wasn't chosen on a whim, Terzo actually looked past the facades of those that were picked, it must have been the Hyper Intuition that pegged him into finding the person worth his trust and title of Guardian.

Ten years before his death, Gentry retired and gave his cousin, Vongola Quattro the duties to carry on with the Vongola name. He knew his health was starting to decline and in order not place any burden on his Famiglia, Gentry peacefully stepped down and retreated to manor on the outskirts of Italy. Where he died of a heart attack on his forty-fourth birthday.

Canon Point: Trying to control his breathing before meeting his guests for the New Years Eve gathering.
