He’s gone.
They needed help, they needed volunteers, and he’s gone. Gone to where no-one has yet returned, gone where the sun doesn’t shine, gone beyond the four corners of the Earth.
Someone had to go, but it didn’t have to be him. There must be others more suited to the task. Those who have seen what is out there. Those who know how to deal with what is out there. He never said he was either, but he never told anyone he was anything to do with this.
He is our only hope, and I hope that he returns.
