this has absolutely nothing to do with the entry below. except the part about me shopping today:
so, as you know, i went shopping with my mother today. we went around downtown + the pearl, browsing and picking through what rubble has been left after the stampede of vicious christmas shoppers.
because i've been so ill over the past few days, i wore:
-long underwear
-baggy fleece sweatpants
-pink oes varsity tee
-old, worn oes black varsity soccer sweatshirt
-ugg boots
(and my hair was all ratty since i washed it and then slept on it)
OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!
im tired of going EVERYWHERE and seeing the "hot bitches" that basically WORSHIP and DEDICATE their lives to fashion and the tyrannical dictatorship led my Cosmogirl, YM and ElleGirl.
HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF BRAINWASHING?
I mean, COME ON!! they've succumbed to the black hole known to many as "pop culture"
i got at LEAST like 7 girls give me a quick glance and then STARE down at my UGGs with that horrifying, menacing, JUDGEMENTAL look. so maybe i looked just a LITTLE awkward... half bum down too my UGGs. but jesus fucking christ. you don't have to INSPECT every adolescent wearing something "hip". it wasn't like an admiring look either... it was that vicious... STARE that i just cant define.
it seems that today people are solely defined by what they wear. i know, i know, it's like *DUH*... but SOME PEOPLE!!! how can you SPEND your LIFE shopping? and come on, families like mine dont even have that kind of money. it just BOTHERS me SO MUCH that
TRENDS
get to rule our lives and tell as what to do, wear and say.
... AND EVERY-FUCKING-BODY LOOKS THE SAME. just turn on your TV and flip to MTV. watch for a few minutes. doesnt every girl look... EXACTLY THE SAME???? somebody please tell me why this bothers me so much. is it just that i feel like nobody pays attention to anything valuable anymore? sorta like what's happening to me with my PSAT scores *cough*.
i dunno. fuck it. pop culture, the media, marketing and the giant monster that works behind it all lives in part of every one of us...
FUCK YOU, MEDIA!!!
i'm done. sorry.
