especially through reading fanfic I hear ya on that - not only does it make me like characters more than I did when they were only canon for me, but often with at least background characters (even if they're only background in fanfic and not so much in the canon) it can make me dislike them more, because of how they behave in fanfic. I know, it's insane, but I can't help it.

I know what you mean though. It's quite worrying that fanfic can change my impression/feelings towards characters when technically I should be basing it on JKR's writing since they are her characters!! I guess it's bound to happen though.

P.S I do love Luna! And I really hate Ron sometimes! It's really interesting learning this facts, because they're a little glimpse of who we are.
