This is my entry for ouran_contest's "author's choice" theme. The theme I chose to write on was "Photographs". This is what I came up with. It's surprisingly sappy for being a fic dealing with memories of Haruhi's late mother.

Aww, thanks! ^^ I loved the chapter and I couldn't resist writing about it. Ryouji is SO FREAKING CUTE. And it's a little unsettling how much he looked like Tamaki at age 19...

I know what you mean! I love parent meetings! 8D Kyoko and Katsuya's meeting was so adorable! I cried like a baby the whole time, though, because I knew what was going to happen to them. My family was watching me read it like "What's wrong with you?" XD God, why does Natsuki Takaya feel the need to write the OVERWHELMING ANGST!? XP

He did really. And how bright he is just like Tamaki. I guess Haruhi really took it from her mother and Ryouji is overprotective of her daughter since he saw himself in Tamaki. I think. XD

I know!! I cried during Kyoko and Katsuya's meeting too. I was like, this is one of the best chapter ever from the manga (aside from Hatori and Mayuko's encounter XD). There's one fanfiction on them that I read quite some time ago which is sooo adorable. It helps a LOT with Furuba angst because it was super cute. It's about Tohru's first word in case you're wondering XD

XD I'm glad it was a good decision!

I thought it was cute how much in common with Tamaki he had. His little outbursts were so funny. It makes sense that he'd be wary of Tamaki, since the two of them have so much in common. I sure wouldn't want my daughter dating someone so much like myself.

That was such a cute chapter! My favorite chapters are the ones revolving around Akito, but when that chapter showed up I was like "awwwwww". ^^ I want to read that fic now! Is it on FFN?

I loved it too. It was so much fun to read, and it made me giggle. Ryouji is so Tamaki-esque that I can't help loving him.

Ok, so you basically do this really cool thing where, whenever Ryouji looks at a picture, we are immediately in the story of the picture - there's no irritatingly continual "he remembered this, he remembered that." The tense switches to past, and we are in the memory. This is very, very clever story-telling. It is a technique I may have to steal...

As usual, you have exceptionally descriptive diction (Click says the latch), although I will say that I sometimes feel overwhelmed by the adverbs...

Also, didn't Kotoko die when Haruhi was 4?

But at any rate, this is a thoroughly enjoyable, thoroughly IC piece. Thank you for sharing it :)
