Last year I opened my journal up for a discussion of the remix, mainly because I'd felt so frustrated at not finding a way to take an imaginative leap with the story I wrote. I thought it might be nice to do the same thing again this year, and see how people felt about the remix process this time around: whether there were new challenges, unexpected problems, or whether practice has made it easier and you feel happier with your work.
This year I'm much happier with the story I wrote. There's still some room for improvement, of course, but I finally seem to be getting the hang of the whole remixing concept. There's definitely a knack to it, and practice does seem to help. I think I'll try doing a remix at least once more, just to hone my newfound skillz :)
How about the rest of you? Better? Worse? Or do you think it's largely down to the writer you're assigned, and how well their style meshes with yours?
My internet access is going to be spotty (as usual) over the next couple of days, so feel free to talk amongst yourselves. Just remember to keep things anonymous until the big reveal!
