It's time for my annual
remixredux08 debriefing post, in which you are all welcome to hang out and discuss the pitfalls, problems and triumphs of this year's challenge.
I had a great time with my remix this year, despite the deadline rushing towards me like a freight train and a migraine that wouldn't quit. I felt much more confident about what I was doing, so didn't feel the stress of previous years. Ironically, I'm not sure that translated into a good story; but I'm really happy with it. I tried something new, and didn't go for the obvious choices, and even if it didn't quite come off, I loved taking the risk.
What about all of you? Any unexpected disasters or last-minute triumphs? Have you discovered any new, nifty tricks for making remixing easier? How did you go about picking which story to remix (that always fascinates me)? I chose a personal favourite this time, which was daunting but lovely :)
Once the stories go live, you're also welcome to talk about the remixes of your own work.
I've opened this post a little early this year because I'm off on a writers' retreat for the rest of the week. Go ahead and have fun in comments, but please keep things polite. I don't want to come back and have to use my Smiting Fist of Modding Power.
Anon posting is on. Please remember to keep things anonymous until the reveal.
