It saddens me to see that there are no comments of gratitude for this wonderful explanation post. I just finished Ergo Proxy on the weekend, and I'm still floored by its complexity and unique story. Thank you SO MUCH for this post; it clears up many of my questions and allows me to have a deeper understanding of the series (it took me awhile while watching to realize that practically every weird, out-of-place situation was the result of a proxy and then it all clicked, lol; I didn't think there would be this many). I'm off to read your Part 2 post now.

I have been searching and searching for answers and explanations and I finally found this! A huge heartfelt thanks for posting this in so much detail. I can finally rest in peace tonight, lol (it's 3 am actually) knowing that I finally understand what the whole series meant and how beautiful it truly was. Know that your effort has been appreciated. :D
And now I really want to go and tell everyone (rant in pure excitement) that I have just watched an extremely heart-touching show! Lol, okay bye!

P.S- This series had the best opening song in my opinion! The lyrics are just simply perfect! "Come and save me!" It felt like throughout the show Vincent was calling out to someone (Re-L in my opinion and who I wanted to) to help him, save him and in the end Re-L truly became his salvation. <3
