Character Descriptions

rephen asked me for character descriptions, which I happily responded that I would write. I'm making a post with them, if anyone else is interested.

When I think of Miss D I think of a very cold mid-winters night, with crisp white snow and a starry sky. The colours of a winters night are her colours - she has pale skin, dark hair and dark blue eyes, the typical Celtic look. I think those are also colours she likes to dress in, quite dark with white for contrast.
When I showed the first page of the story to a younger cousin he saw her as quite old, but actually the age you were supposed to be married in the Victorian age was between eighteen and twenty-three, I've understood that if you got to twenty-five your chances were basically gone. I see her as being around thirty, give or take a few years.
She has very good posture, and seldom smiles. I can add that I see her hair as quite smiliar to the lady to the left in this picture.

I'm not completely sure how old Francis is yet. He's old enough to study history yet young enough to still have that childish sence of wonder. Perhaps around ten?
He has green eyes, often wide open, and dark blonde hair. I think he might be quite small for his age - though not so small as to be the smallest boy in school. He dresses a lot in brown, though I haven't decided completely on his style of dress, the question is mostly knee-length vs long trousers - decide for yourselves :)

Mr. Sullivan is a bit short, he has gray hair and light eyes. His face is creased though not completely wrinkly. He might be around forty or fifty. He dresses in black, sometimes a bit worn clothes. When away on his travels he might wear clothes like the ones you can picture Dr. Livingstone in :)
There is something about him that shines, he always has a lot of energy, I think it might be that.

Mr. Witherscombe reminds me of a bird for some reason, I think it might be his nose, which is thin and a bit bony. When I saw this picture from a Sherlock Holmes story I literally bounced up from the sofa with a 'it's him!' (the man to the left, that is). He's taller than that though. He has reddish-brown hair, turning a bit gray and I'm not sure about his eyes. Green gray?

Cuchullain is an Irish Wolf Hound - which, I think, is all that needs to be said about him :)
