Everything's fixed, I'll leave for England in about three weeks time (6th of September) where I will stay with a family with two children, 2 and 3. The father is an IT consultant I believe, and the mother is a writer (!) They seem very sweet, I just hope I won't be too homesick.
Now I just have to run around and find everything I need before

Sure, more book recommendations are always good. :)
I hope your trip is good and safe, and that you enjoy the experience. We'll look forward to more of your story after you get settled. :)

I'll see what I can do about the book recommendations :)
Thanks for your concern, which doesn't really seem like the right word, but I can't seem to find the right one at the moment :)

It's funny that you mentioned it. I'd actually been thinking of rereading it. It's been years since I read it. I had a story idea awhile ago that I never got far with, but might go back to work on. It has something that reminds me just a little of The Secret Garden, and I want to make sure I am not doing something that is too similar to that story.
It's fun to read children's book sometimes. A few years ago, I worked in a child care centre. My class was the 3-5 year olds and my favourite thing was reading to them. I especially enjoyed reading them some of the Don and Audrey Wood books, such as Heckedy Peg and In the Napping House. I think I loved the pictures as much as the kids did. :)

I think I've seen that old movie as well, but it was a very long time ago so I mostly remember blurred images...
Sometimes I'm terrified of reading certain books because I think I'll find that I'm perhaps a bit too close to their storyline :) But still, it's good to see it, so you can steer away from it!
Ooh, I'm really looking forward to reading to the kids I will take care of this year. They're 2 and 3 so unfortunately a bit young for Narnia, but I'll try to see if some of my favourites from when I was that age have been translated to English! I love sharing books :)
I'll look up the books you mentioned as well, I really love good illustrations :)

I still have to get my hands on the Narnia books. Would LOVE to read about Edward Tulane, though. Sounds so wonderful :)
My tastes are a bit all over the place, the last book I read was Kurt Vonnegut's Cat's Cradle. It was enjoyable, but strange. I'm not really sure how I feel about the whole thing, yet.
The family you're gonna be with sounds awesome. I hope you will have an enjoyable time :)

Oh my, you really have to read the Narnia books, they're fantastic! In fact, I'm thinking of rereading them right now :) And Edward Tulane... Oh my. I kind of hate it since it made me cry, but I guess that's a really good grade :)
I read a bit about Cat's Cradle, it sounds interesting, I'll try to look it up, but I guess I should wait until I'm in England... I wonder if one has to be a citizen to get a library card...
They really do sound awesome :) I'm super excited, but worrying a bit much about my mom, I feel kinda bad leaving her here, but it's bound to happen eventually *resigned sigh*
