That other book recommendation update

Aaah I'd written quite a lot before firefox crashed and destroyed it for me. I'll do my best to write it again...

I think there is another Susanna Clarke one, but I've not read it.

Have you read The meaning of night, and the sequel, The glass of time, by Michael Cox? I think might like them. Also the fantastic Crimson petal and the white by Michel Faber. All three are long books, but very good

You might be thinking about The Ladies of Grace Adieu, her short story collection :) It's very good as well, but I'm waiting anxiously for her next full length novel!

I actually haven't heard of any of those books, I'll have to look them up! Thank you :)

Oh, lovely stuffs. I'll have to hunt these down immediately. Im still reading Wide Sargasso Sea atm, but will see if I can get a copy of Susanna Clarke's book.

I'm partial to Neil Gaiman. I like his Neverwhere a lot, but American Gods was a little flat at parts. Good Omens was good fun, though too harmless for me.

Thanks for the recs! :D

Oh, Neverwhere has got to be one of my favourite books ever. I'm not sure why I didn't mention it, but I was quite tired when I wrote :P I also wasn't sure if it would be the best book to get into Gaiman with :) Have you seen the TV series? It was made before the book, and is a bit low-budget but still good :)
I... think I can see what you mean about American Gods, but I love it. The hugeness of it, and the countless references to... everything :D
I think Good Omens is a very interesting book, because it's clearly a Terry Pratchett book at the same time as it's obviously Gaiman :) I like the blend of their styles!
