i highly recommend any HP laptop. i just got one back in December, and it's great. mine was only 600 and it came with a bunch of extras, built in web cam, a built in memory card reader and a remote control that hides away inside the laptop. It's super light and easy to carry around. the only thing that i don't like is that there isn't a great battery life. but if you're looking to get a higher model, i'm sure the battery life will be much better on it.

yeah I've had a gateway for the past two years and I remember when my ex got his HP and how cute and shiny it was. HP is definitely the brand I am leaning towards.
