Busy weekend, but that's par for the course most of the year, I suppose. I worked Saturday, then had a couple of hours off, then went to the symphony for Stravinsky's Symphony of Psalms and Mozart's Requiem. Had a good time! I've sung the Symphony of Psalms, but in English, because my high school chorus was asked to perform it at a temple and they had Feelings about Latin. Trying to think which bits of it would make a baby jump...

When is Wonder Offspring's Offspring due to emerge?
No fuddy duddy maternity clothes here either. Yesterday I wore these shoes to the marathon recital. I probably drew a few looks, but whatever. I'm super annoyed that people here think I need to be treated like some delicate flower who is incapable of doing anything by herself while pregnant. My director wouldn't even let me close the piano lid myself! I had to close it while her back was turned. I don't know when people will figure this out - if I don't want to wear heels, I won't wear heels; if I don't want to lift something, I won't lift it. Is it that hard to assume that I will ask for help if I think I need it?

WOO is due on 5/26 if not before, say the doctors. Wonder Offspring's Wife is diabetic, so they are not allowing her to carry longer than that.
Nice shoes! In answer to your question, the list of unwritten assumptions about pregnant women is as long as your arm. "Yes, I am a Delicate Flower, which is what's going to enable me to push out a fully-formed human being using only my abdominal muscles." If the heels in question give you enough support (and believe me, your feet will tell you if they don't), go for it.
