Dear people,

It's not nesting. It's called preparation. I don't understand why it has to have a different name when the idea is the same. An event is going to happen. I am preparing for it. It's only because I'm going to birth a human worm child that people get all excited and call it nesting. I am not doing anything differently than usual ( Read more... )

That's quite interesting how people change names for things, just because you are pregnant! You are so right that it is preparation as any, as it is a change coming. And yeah, baby-socks are the cutest thing ever! *grins*

People have a weird tendency to fetishize and romanticize pregnancy and motherhood. It's incredibly annoying.

I'm doing this because I don't want to be stuck at the last minute doing shit I should have done a long time ago.

Total Word on that. I'm scared shitless of having a nursery full of boxes and no cot, no changing table ready, etc. when the little one arrives. At that point, I bet you don't want to deal with that stuff on top of everything else. To me that's just called "planning ahead". :p

As for socks and shoes, we saw these adorable blue sandal type shoes with embroidered orange goldfish on them and Neil had to use force to drag me from the shop. Twice.
