Wow, you fooled me then. I am a server, and your descriptions of the job (fast-paced and hectic) were spot on.

If my descriptions are so accurate I can convince people in the field, I've done my job well, thank you for the compliment.

I asked around for some help, but the responses were more along the lines of extreme cases in waiting (and that was -after- part one.) So, until Ed does something crazy like slip and drop an entire tray of food- I'm just going by instinct of how the job looks, from the outside.

Interesting story premise, and I really like your writing style. It's clear and evocative, drawing me right into the diner - I think that's maybe your use of details - enough to sketch everything in, without bogging down in extraneous description.
