Meryl Streep discussing Julie & Julia

When I heard about this movie, I sort of gasped. One of my top 5 favorite humans ever playing another one of them. WE ARE SO THERE. :) (Even though I heard the book was lame.) I don't even care.

I think the Julia Child part looks great. Someday I'll get a DVD of this movie and watch only the Julia Child parts, because I do not give a hoot about that annoying Amy Adams character. Julia Child is amazing - she's good enough to get her own damn movie!

All the reviews I'm reading say it's really two movies. The one about Julia Child is really good, the one about What's-her-name is...well, not.

Sounds quite similar to the ideas I've heard about the book.

I'm really excited about this movie too! Where did you get your Julia Child print?

I looked for it everywhere after seeing it at the Smithsonian AmHist and with zero success in the first endeavor, I ended up having a 5 x 7 printed from my photo that day, which turned out pretty okay. Would still prefer a purchased image if it were crisper, btu this is okay for now.

The movie reviewer from the newspaper told us at a party a couple weeks ago that Meryl Streep is brilliant in the role, but when Amy Adams came on the screen, he wanted to claw his eyes out. I guess that pretty much reinforces the previous movie & book reviews. Still... I'd like to see it just for Meryl's performance. The trailers are hilarious!

The Amy Adams part wasn't bad at all -- I totally thought it would suck but I ended up kind of liking it.
