For my fellow Harry Potter fans, see if you can answer me this:
Why was there no sort of memorial or funeral or anything for Sirius Black? No one even bothered to pardon him of the crimes he was accused of (but didn't commit

I think, personally, that Sirius' death was handled a bit sloppily. I didn't buy the way Harry took what was clear despondency at the end of OotP and turned it into rock-hard determination in the course of, what, two weeks? I just don't buy that.
Of course, I wasn't really all that much of a Sirius fan, but I feel like he got shortchanged and misjudged throughout the entire book, and then killed senselessly at the end, and not even missed in the next book (especially if all that crap about Tonks being in love with Remus as the cause of her brown hair is true - grar, but don't get me started in on the other pet rant of Rowling killing Tonks as an interesting character in book six).
Erm. Okay, I'll step away from the soapbox now. Heh heh.
I agree 100%! I loved Tonks prior to the brown hair bit. That's a pet rant of mine, too.
It's hard to swallow that a kid loses the only real family he has and then a couple weeks later is no longer even seemingly depressed. I'm glad I'm not the only one bothered by that.
Oh, totally. I know quite a few people for whom that didn't ring true. And it's very frustrating because even though JKR told us why it was necessary ("I have to go on alone. No one else can do this for me.") she didn't show it enough. I found that very frustrating.
As for Tonks...well, let's just say that I'm VERY thankful we found a great Tonks for Ruat Coelum, because my RPG is renewing my faith in a Tonks that isn't a stupid, brainless girl who went crazy over a man. *L*
